FOX 50 is the Home of the
Carolina Hurricanes!

NC --- FOX 50 WRAZ-TV has been named the official 1999-2000 home of the
Carolina Hurricanes. Fox 50 will be the exclusive broadcast station for
a select schedule of Carolina Hurricanes games in the Raleigh-Durham-Fayetteville
market. Fox 50 will broadcast seven (7) regular season Carolina Hurricane
games, including the 1999-2000 home opener on October 29, 1999, when the
New Jersey Devils face-off with the Hurricanes in their new home …The
Raleigh Entertainment and Sports Arena.
“We are pleased
and excited to welcome the Hurricanes to their permanent home and be
able to offer seven, marquee match ups,” said Fox 50 General Manager
Tommy Schenck. “We’re extremely excited to be a part of the Hurricanes
homecoming,” said Fox 50 Sports Anchor Jeff Gravley. “And especially
proud to be able to bring to our viewers the first game of our Carolina
Hurricanes from the new Raleigh Entertainment and Sports Arena.”
In addition to the
seven (7) regular season games, Fox 50 will also air a half-hour Carolina
Hurricanes’ special prior to the October 29 home opener. Fox 50 and the
Carolina Hurricanes will also join forces on a public service campaign
focusing on positive values for children and families.
