WRAL-FM employee The radio industry affords numerous job opportunities across the country, requiring many of the same skills as the television industry. Below is a brief description of some radio jobs.

- TRAFFIC MANAGER: Collects data from departments to prepare the schedule for the broadcast day.
- PROGRAM DIRECTOR: Responsible for the entire on-air product and controls the sound of the station; including, control over the talent, production, work schedules and program schedules.
- PRODUCTION DIRECTOR: Assigns announcers, schedules studios, arranges recording sessions, produces commercials and directs programs.
- SALES ASSISTANT: Supports the sales staff and managers by handling much of the office work, including drafting proposals, which allows the sales staff more time with clients.
- GENERAL SALES MANAGER: Person hires and supervises the sales staff, reviews programming for best sales opportunities, develops sales plans and goals, oversees billing, studies and understands the station's market and approves all sales promotion campaigns.
- COPY WRITER: Person that writes commercial and promotional copy in support of the station's sales, marketing and promotional efforts.
- PROMOTION DIRECTOR: Person who promotes the station's image, programs and activities on and off the air. Includes creating on-air promotions and coordinating remote broadcasts at community events.
- ANNOUNCERS/ON-.AIR TALENT: Serve as the station's "voice" and most often are the people with whom the public can identify with. Duties include introducing programs, music and commercials, reading/recording commercial copy and public service announcements and giving out information to listeners.
- MUSIC DIRECTOR: Manages the music library database and works with the program director in selecting new recordings to be played as they are submitted by record companies. Individual also serves as an on-air personality.
- ENGINEERS: Operate and monitor the broadcasting equipment to ensure the station remains on the air.
- RECEPTIONIST: Duties vary according to the size of the station. Position is ideal for understanding all aspects of how a station operates.
- ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE: Sells commercial air time to advertisers to generate revenue.
