Light Up Durham

Capitol Broadcasting and several of its subsidiaries sponsor one of downtown Durham's premier events. Light Up Durham, a holiday celebration, brings the Triangle community together for performances, a parade and a fireworks finale. CBC subsidiaries WRAL-TV, WRAL-FM, FOX 50, and the Durham Bulls join their mother company to support this kickoff of the holiday season.

The festivities include a variety of performances at the Carolina Theater and other downtown locations during the Talent All Over Town during the middle of the day. A holiday parade follows in the afternoon, and the event concludes with an Evening Grande Finale at the Historic Durham Athletic Park complete with fireworks.

Founded in 1996, Light Up Durham serves as an opportunity for the Durham community to gather its talent and diversity for a celebration of those very treasures.
