WRAL-TV will be carrying The Masters, the PGA's premier golf tournament on April 10-13, 2003, and Triangle high-definition set owners will be treated to what CBS Sports is calling the "largest HDTV production ever." The Tournament from the Augusta National Golf Club will be captured via 42 HD cameras and 10 hand-held 16:9 SD cameras. The event will be produced in 1080i and downconverted for the analog broadcast as well, creating a clearer picture even for viewers with an analog set. This 2003 broadcast will mark a return to HD coverage of the Masters for the first time since 2000, when it was the first golf tournament presented live in HD on network television. |
