WRAL-TV To Broadcast North Carolina Inauguration

NC Governor-elect Mike Easley will take office this Saturday.

The new North Carolina Governor Mike Easley will be sworn in this Saturday, January 6, in downtown Raleigh. WRAL-TV will be airing the event live at 11:00am from the steps of the Archives and History State Library Building on Jones Street.

In conjunction with UNC-TV, WRAL will be bringing the broadcast to the citizens of North Carolina. UNC-TV will produce and shoot the swearing in ceremonies and then the parade downtown; WRAL is providing the uplink so that any stations across the state can take the feed. This uplinking will take place through the auspices of the North Carolina Association of Broadcasters (NCAB).

The WRAL-TV coverage begins Saturday at 11:00am, with complete recaps during the 6:00pm and 11:00pm news broadcasts that same day.
