Another "Brain Game" Season Draws To A Close

WRAL-TV held a banquet to celebrate the fall and spring sessions of "Brain Game" during the past school year on Tuesday, May 22 at 5:30pm in Studio A at its facilities on Western Boulevard. The Spring Championship team from Raleigh Charter School in Wake County and the Fall Championship team from Hunt High in Wilson County were feted at the event.

The Brain Game season drew to a close on Saturday, May 19, and garnered an excellent 3.6 rating/11 share.

Over 90 students, parents and coaches attended the "Brain Game" celebration. After a dinner catered by Catering Works, WRAL-TV staff members treated these guests were treated to tours of WRAL-TV's new newsroom.

WRAL-TV's Kevin Shand produces the Brain Game, and Chief Meteorologist Greg Fishel serves as host. WRAL-TV Director/Producers Rob Hale, Chris Bolanz, Mick Evans, and WRAL-TV's Infinit operators and crew all significantly contributed to the successful "Brain Game" season.

The show premiered in January of 1997 and is # 1 at 10:00am on Saturdays. Forty-two teams participate in WRAL-TV's educational quiz show each semester, in are 14 regular season games. The nine teams with the best scores qualify for the playoffs; three playoff rounds occur at the end of each semester. The top three playoff teams compete in the championship round each semester.
