The first 2001 All-Star Baseball Camp took place on July 11-13. The
second will follow on August 1st. |
Coastal Federal
Field played home to some young players on July 11 - 13. The Myrtle
Beach Pelicans players and coaches helped teach the kids the ropes
of baseball. The local law firm of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough
is sponsoring the 2001 All-Star Baseball Camps with the team.
Children
ages 8 - 13 attended the three-day camp which ran from 9:00am to
noon each day. Each participant received personal professional instruction,
lunch, a reserved ticket to the Pelicans games during the camp,
a T-shirt, water bottle and a chance to get autographs from the
Pelicans players and coaches. Awards were presented for hitting,
running, throwing and sportsmanship.
A one-day camp
will be held on August 1; cost is only $25. Registration
is available online on the Pelicans
website.
