Director/Producer Dan Oliver said of the episode, "This is a fun, fast-paced show. It's not what I call one of our 'big topic' shows (like race relations or school violence), instead it's just a little slice of middle school life. On the other hand, I think it's something that literally everyone in the target audience can relate to."

Oliver said that the taping for the episode went very well and that the "still-relatively-new cast really gelled this time. All of the kids did strong work and a couple of them are just outstanding. Most people who have seen this one have liked it a lot. It's very entertaining, even for adults."
